The Virgin of the Transformation of the Souls 2004 - 2008. Oil on wood.
The Virgin of the Transformation of the Souls, 2004 - 2008
The altarpiece was made over a period of 4 years. The initial design contemplated only the central piece with the Virgin, the child and the custodians, using as inspiration the representation of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua in the Cathedral of Seville. The Virgin has always been a symbol very important to me, of protection, of love.

Later, in a period of a major introspection and profound changes in my life, I decided to add the support altarpiece, for which I conceptualized the most enigmatic element of the art work: the representation of the transformation of the souls in their passage through Purgatory. A reflection of a process of contrition and inner healing that led to a phase of renewal and growth.
